Ganz Webinz and the Webkinz World is a new type of plush pet for your kids to enjoy, with it's own virtual world on the web. In order to activate the Webkinz, Lil Webkinz and Lil Kinz virtual pets on the Webkinz website you must have a "secret code".

In April 2005 The Ganz company released its production line of stuffed toys call Webkinz. These are not just your regular run of the mill stuffed toys. Each toy has an attached tag with a unique secret code that allows access to the Webkinz World Website.

As previously discussed each toy comes with a secret code consisting of eight characters. When registering the code on the Webkinz website you "adopt" this pet in the virtual Webkinz World . The access to the website is good for one year and can be renewed upon purchase of another pet which is added to the existing account.

The virtual Webkinz World is a play area complete with its own money known as KinzCash. This money is earned by participating in the online games and adopting new pets. The games consist of answering general knowledge questions, daily activities like clicking "I love Webkinz!", spinning the Wheel of WOW or playing Wishing Well 2.

You can also compete in minigames available once every 8 hours, and there is a Game of the Day which can be played for bonus KinzCash. These and other bonuses are available each hour, full days on weekends, and afternoons on weekdays. Every time an additional Webkinz toy is purchased more money, rooms, and items are added to the user's account.

KinzCash can be spent at the "W Shop" where purchases of food, clothing for your pets, or decorating items for the pet's room or you can build additional rooms onto their houses and outdoor areas.
